My interest in painting began when I was very young often drawing from the books I had around me, with a particular interest in nature. I then spent more time drawing things mostly from life. If anyone can remember 'paint along with Nancy' that inspired me to try and finish pieces I had started and experiment with different media, a kind of tv tutor! I studied at art college for four years and became a graphic designer/illustrator working with design studios and freelancing. At present I am studying the positive effect that art has, and spending time with people has convinced me there are restorative and therapeutic qualities to art, especially while teaching it.
I have always painted in my spare time and started to use pastels more frequently as these particularly portrayed the qualities of water and light something that appears in a majority of my work. I always paint while listening to music, which in turn inspires me to play and record my own music. The Mediterranean water particularly in Greece is beautiful to paint as it always changes.
